The goalkeeper Had little to do to make during the opening 45 but then called into action from an opponent's curling effort. A sliding challenge against Qazim Laci showed his reading of the game. Six out of ten

The debutant Tested by Albania’s biggest threat in their forward. Played more centrally early on then shifted wider once a teammate came on. 7/10

The defender Moved up the pitch on the ball, as he has done in the past. Sometimes was too casual on the ball and the tactic was shelved by the interval. 6

The tall defender Always dangerous on corners and free-kicks, as always, but may be an alternative to Stones in the backline rather than paired with him. A careless distribution in the second half nearly resulted in an opener from the visitors. 6/10

Nico O’Reilly A further composed display by the rising star following his initial appearance versus another side. A teammate was unable to take the most of a clever flick behind the Albania defence. His position is his to lose so soon. 7

The newcomer His first start in an England shirt. Slightly sloppy on the ball however his dangerous deliveries caused problems. A useful game manager available to the boss to utilize versus teams who drop deep. Booked for a poorly timed tackle. 6/10

The midfielder Crosses on corner kicks and set-plays created chances. Had room to roam in left midfield yet found himself in an offside position as the pass came in shooting positions. Awarded a well-earned break around the 60-minute point. Six

The star midfielder Functioned in a forward spot on the right while also put in defensive duties. Demonstrated flashes of quality and mishit an attempt over. Substituted late on by Rogers, his rival, after receiving a caution. 7

Jarrod Bowen Had England’s clearest opportunity in the opening period, his effort well saved from the opposing goalkeeper. With a teammate holding position, he had to provide width down the right side but his crosses into the box were inconsistent. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. 6

Harry Kane The match-winner netting seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth goals in an England shirt. The first a typical poacher’s finish and his next a superb finish with his head after peeling away from his marker. Now 32, his form is unwavering and England are strong contenders next summer when he's in the team. 8

Eberechi Eze Struggled to influence play out wide. Was presented with a presentable chance after being played in from a teammate yet the keeper made the save. Rashford made much more of effect after coming on. 5/10
