Jet Transporting Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window
A plane carrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was compelled to make an unplanned landing in the Britain on Wednesday due to a fissure was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, as stated by an official announcement which confirmed that Hegseth was safe.
"The plane touched down following established safety measures and everyone onboard, including Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson said in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a brief trip to the city of Brussels during the flight.
This event isn't the initial instance that a US military aircraft carrying a top government figure has experienced technical problems.
Months ago, a American military jet ferrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to return to Washington DC after suffering a mechanical fault.
