FC Barcelona to Host Historic Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced they will play at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Basque side in La Liga 30 months following their departure so building work could begin.

“Returning home was our dream. Finally, it’s happening. We are back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators can be present based on approved permits. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said finished work included a new players’ tunnel and new dressing rooms.

Stadium Testing

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
